A metal deck bears across steel framing with the deck terminating at a parapet. A one-quarter-inch plate runs full depth, transitioning to a one-half-inch plate at the braced frame post located at the parapet. A steel angle structural member is welded with a three-sixteenths-inch fillet weld on three sides typically. A one-quarter-inch by four-inch by four-inch steel plate is attached with a three-sixteenths-inch field weld at the steel beam or steel joist.
