A concrete slab over a metal floor deck rests directly on structural steel beams that frame continuously across a vertical steel column. Connection plates bolted to the webs of the steel beams attach to the steel column flanges on typical framing lines. The floor assembly comprises a cast-in-place concrete topping slab over corrugated metal decking.
