An HSS post connects to a concrete beam per plan utilizing an embedded steel plate measuring five-eighths by twelve inches by one foot long, anchored with five-eighths inch diameter by twelve inch long headed studs and three number five U-bars extending four feet on three sides. A structural steel angle measuring L4x3x1/2 by nine inches in length is welded to the embedded plate. A five-eighths inch top and bottom plate with a radiused edge as required is welded to the HSS post and the angle with five-sixteenths inch fillet welds on three sides.
