A vertical hanger rod and a structural angle kicker provide support for a stair assembly suspended from a concrete on metal deck slab and a steel beam. The hanger rod is secured by connections designed by the stair contractor, featuring a maximum twelve-inch offset. A three-by-three-by-one-quarter-inch angle kicker braces the hanger against the steel beam web. The top of the kicker angle is anchored to the concrete slab using a four-by-four-by-five-sixteenths-inch angle measuring one foot four inches long, fastened with two one-half-inch-diameter by four-inch embedded expansion anchors.
