Heavy conduits with a three-quarter inch diameter and a one inch outer maximum are embedded within a concrete slab over a steel deck and steel beam. The assembly requires a four and a half inch minimum concrete thickness, a three-quarter inch minimum clearance to the steel beam, and a one and a half inch minimum clearance above the deck flutes. Conduits maintain a three inch minimum spacing unless approved by the engineer. Additional reinforcement requires minimum number four bars spaced at twelve inches on center perpendicular to the conduits, extending one foot past the conduit on both sides alongside shear studs.
