A metal deck bears on a structural steel edge beam with a minimum three-inch bearing width, secured by three-quarter-inch diameter field plug welds spaced at twelve inches on center. The concrete slab is retained by a twelve-gauge continuous steel edge form reinforced with two continuous number four bars and number three bars spaced at twelve inches. A fourteen-gauge by one-inch wide strap is spaced at a maximum of thirty-six inches on center. A note directs the contractor to check the adequacy of the edge form.
