A pipe or conduit passes through a thickened concrete slab on grade supported by firm undisturbed soil or compacted fill. Typical slab reinforcing is placed as specified per plan across the assembly. The thickened slab section extends downward with a minimum six-inch depth and a twelve-inch horizontal clearance from the centerline of the penetration. The bottom of the conduit sits two inches above the thickened subgrade.
