Beams frame into a hollow structural section column using a shear plate and flange plates on each side sized per schedule. Beam flanges feature typical dimensional constraints requiring a one-half inch radius where notched, with one inch minimum clear distance and one-and-a-half inch minimum to two inch maximum dimensions at the column face. Flange plates and shear plates are integrated into the assembly to transfer loads through the column joint.
