A pipe or conduit penetrates a concrete slab at a thickened section resting on firm undisturbed soil or compacted fill. The slab includes typical reinforcing sized per plan. Dimensions require a minimum six-inch depth below the thickened slab section, a twelve-inch horizontal clearance zone, two inches of concrete cover above the pipe, and a six-inch clearance beneath the pipe.
