A pipe passes through a concrete foundation wall inside a sleeve, maintaining a one-inch clearance all around. Reinforcement consists of one number five bar extending twenty-four inches above and below the sleeve in foundation walls and grade beams. Pipes are restricted from passing directly through footings or grade beams without specific provisions. Where pipes run less than twenty-four inches below the bottom of the footing, the footing must be thickened and extended a minimum of one foot on each side of the sleeve.
