An HSS6x6x tube member spans between stair stringers with a one-half-inch stiffener plate located in the middle of the tube. An HSS8x8 diagonal beam connects to the assembly with five-sixteenths typical fillet welds. A three-eighths-inch stiffener plate is provided at the stringer, supported by an L4x4x1/2-inch bearing angle. An L3x3x1/4-inch brace extends to the next beam and is welded to the flange, utilizing one-and-seven-eighths-inch diameter high-strength bolts.
