A galvanized hollow structural section connects to a supporting structure using typical galvanized four-by-four-by-one-quarter-inch angles. A galvanized pipe ties into the assembly as specified per sheet S6.31. Two seven-eighths-inch machine bolts secure the top and bottom for a total of four bolts. A one-quarter-inch cap plate is provided at the end of the hollow structural section with a butt weld.
