A cold-formed steel jamb stud connects to a slotted deflection track using two number ten screws on each leg, installed without attaching through the vertical slots. A deflection track reinforcing member, sized to match the jamb and measuring zero feet six inches long, nests inside the track but remains unattached to the jamb. The slotted track anchors to the overhead structure per the specified detail, allowing vertical movement.
