All slab reinforcement runs continuous through the construction joint in the composite steel deck assembly. Reinforcing bar size and spacing varies based on slab depth dimension D, using number three bars at twelve inches spacing for depths up to two and a half inches, number four bars at twelve inches for depths between two and a half and four and three-quarter inches, and number five bars at twelve inches for depths greater than four and three-quarter inches.
