A concrete slab is cast over a typical metal deck bearing on a steel beam with a minimum two-inch bearing width. Typical slab reinforcement requires a standard hook at the end where the slab overhang exceeds nine inches. Additional number three reinforcing bars at eighteen inches on center are provided where the overhang exceeds six inches. An edge form is installed at the slab perimeter with dimensions sized per plan. Shoring is provided as required beneath the metal deck.
