A vertical double angle member connects to a structural chord member at a common work point using a three-quarter inch gusset plate welded with quarter-inch fillet welds. A web doubler plate of thickness 't' is provided on each side when the gusset plate thickness exceeds the chord web thickness by a quarter-inch or more, welded according to specified formulas. A three-quarter-inch clearance is maintained between the vertical member and the chord, and thirty-degree cut angles are detailed at the plate edges. The bottom chord condition shown is similar but inverted at the top chord.
