A structural steel angle L3x3x3/16 is secured to each low flute on each side of the floor opening using a 1/2-inch-diameter expansion bolt with 3-1/2-inch embedment. The metal deck flutes extend a minimum of two flutes past each side of the opening. Additional reinforcing is placed at cores spanning up to 18 inches maximum.
