A reinforced concrete slab rests over subgrade material with a specified two-inch clear cover to reinforcement. Joints are detailed with half-depth spacings and minimum two-and-a-quarter-inch dimensions. Dowel bars and joint sealers are integrated into the slab edges at designated locations. Subgrade preparation includes compacted aggregate layers beneath the slab.
