Concrete slab core holes are limited to a maximum six-inch diameter for holes in line. Holes parallel to the span of the metal deck require a minimum distance equal to the diameter of the smaller adjacent hole. Holes perpendicular to the span of the deck require a minimum distance of four times the diameter of the larger adjacent hole. These spacing rules apply to slabs supported by steel joists or beams.
