A universal column connects to a universal beam per plan, secured with a full penetration butt weld at the column face. Sixteen-millimeter continuity plates are welded to each side of the web in line with each beam flange using full penetration butt welds all around. A sixteen-millimeter splice plate measuring 250 by 250 millimeters connects the beam segments using six M24 bolts. A full penetration butt weld secures the beam to the splice plate at a 1200-millimeter splice distance.
