A structural steel beam frames into a cross-laminated timber panel using a knife plate connection, with steel decking bearing on top of the beam flange. A full-height shear tab matches the stiffener plate width and thickness, welded with three-sixteenths inch welds. An L4x4x1/2 angle is provided but omitted at glued-laminated timber. The cross-laminated timber panel is notched at the beam, and knife plates are detailed per structural drawing one. Steel deck is installed per plan specifications.
