A structural holdown device connects to a glulam beam and shear wall assembly. The CLT deck receives a concrete topping per plan. A tension rod extends down into the glulam beam with a 3/8-inch by 2-inch by 2-inch washer plate. The holdown requires a minimum 16-inch embedment, or the rod extends to the bottom of the beam if the glulam depth is 16 inches or less.
