Two MC 8x8.5 channel beams meet in a spliced joint utilizing a six-by-three-eighths-inch by zero-foot-seven-and-one-half-inch plate secured with four five-eighths-inch diameter A307 bolts on each side. A three-eighths-inch gusset plate and a six-by-three-eighths-inch by zero-foot-six-inch cap plate are welded below the joint with a quarter-inch fillet weld. A vertical MC 8x8.5 member connects via a flag plate measuring three-and-one-half by one-quarter-inch by zero-foot-six-inch, fastened with two five-eighths-inch diameter A307 bolts and welded to an MC 12x10.6 channel with a three-sixteenths-inch fillet weld.
