A buckling-restrained brace connects to a steel beam sized per plan using gusset plates and a double plate configuration specified by the brace supplier. Beam web stiffener plates are installed on each side of the beam web as required by the supplier. Additional gusset stiffeners are added when required by the brace supplier with a typical four and one-half inch spacing. The connection accommodates diagonal brace members framing into the structural steel beam.
