A W14 column section anchors to a 2 1/2 inch thick base plate. The base plate contains four 2 1/8 inch diameter holes in a 7 inch by 7 inch bolt pattern centered on the column web. Column flanges connect to the base plate with 3/8 inch fillet welds; the web connects with 5/16 inch fillet welds on both sides. Base plate dimensions are 20 inches by 20 inches, with a note allowing for extension in any direction to accommodate gusset plate geometry.
