A buckling restrained brace connects to a steel beam midspan using gusset plates and stiffener plates on both sides. The connection is welded with 5/16-inch welds applied to three sides. Stiffener plates measuring 1/2 by 3 inches or full-depth connection plates are provided on both sides of the web. Additional configuration details are referenced on sheet S4-100 and sheet S4-101.
