An angle brace connects to the underside of a steel beam flange using a five-sixteenths-inch by five-inch by five-inch gusset plate. The plate attaches to the beam web with three-sixteenths-inch fillet welds. A single three-eighths-inch-diameter ASTM A307 bolt secures the angle brace to the gusset plate with one-and-a-half-inch minimum edge distances.
