An extra-strong 10XS pipe connects to a circular concrete column using a 1-inch thick Grade 50 base plate anchored by eight 1-1/2-inch diameter ASTM F1554 Grade 105 threaded rods embedded 66 inches deep. The base plate features oversized holes at the threaded rods and is detailed with 1-inch by 3-inch square plates typically spaced around the perimeter. An upper slanted pipe fits into a 3/4-inch Grade 50 kerf plate welded with 5/16-inch fillets typically. Fillet welds of 1/4-inch size secure the connection elements at the base plate assembly.
