A low steel beam bears on an L5x3x1/4 long leg horizontal seat angle cut to the column width, which is welded to the steel column flange with typical quarter-inch fillets. The beam web is welded to the column with typical quarter-inch fillet welds on both sides. The connection provides vertical load transfer from the beam into the supporting column flange.
