A stepped concrete slab on metal deck bears on a structural steel beam supported by an HSS column. A continuous angle (L7x4x1/2) is welded to the steel beam web with five-sixteenths inch fillet welds, carrying the lower metal deck and slab. Shear stud anchors (one-half inch diameter deformed bar anchors by two feet long at twelve inches on center) tie the concrete curb into the assembly. Additional continuous reinforcing bars (#5 and #4 bars) provide edge and curb reinforcement with specified concrete clearances. The bottom steel beam connects with three one-eighth inch A325-N bolts framing into an HSS4x4x3/8 hollow structural section column.
