A core plate connects to interlocking lug plates embedded within a grout fill inside a hollow structural section tube or pipe. Proprietary interface material lines the inside face of the outer structural steel section. Dimension tc indicates the clearance or wall thickness at the steel boundary. The assembly is detailed for both square tube and circular pipe profiles.
