Typical horizontal reinforcement runs continuously through the cells of a concrete masonry unit wall toward the edge of an opening. Reinforcing bars are placed each face within the grouted cores of the masonry units. The detail establishes proper placement and alignment of horizontal steel relative to the vertical opening termination.
