An HSS beam with standard holes frames into an HSS column using double angles. The 5x3x3/8-inch angles are seven inches long and welded to each side of the beam with typical quarter-inch fillet welds. Two three-quarter-inch A325-N high-strength bolts in standard holes connect the angles to the column face, with a half-inch setback from the column.
