A reinforced concrete beam cross-section contains three number six horizontal bars at the top and three number six horizontal bars at the bottom. Enclosing the longitudinal reinforcement are number four stirrups spaced at eight inches on center. The assembly provides the necessary flexural and shear reinforcement for structural beam design.
