A structural steel beam frames into the flange of a steel column using a single-plate shear connection. The plate is welded to the column flange with fillet welds sized per schedule, and secured to the beam web with multiple rows of bolts spaced at three inches on center. Bolt diameters, plate thicknesses, and member sizes are specified per schedule and plan, with edge distances dimensioned at one and a half and two inches typically.
