A CoreBrace buckling-restrained brace connects to a steel beam supporting a concrete over steel deck floor assembly using a welded gusset plate. Half-inch thick stiffener plates are welded to the near side and far side of the gusset plate with five-sixteenth inch fillet welds. The gusset plate is slotted to receive the buckling-restrained brace, with the gusset and attachment design provided by CoreBrace. A one-half inch plate is provided on the near side and far side at the work point located at the nominal depth of the beam.
