Three-quarter-inch diameter welded shear studs are anchored to wide-flange steel beams supporting concrete over metal deck in single and double row configurations. Section D-D shows one row of studs centered on flutes with a one-and-one-quarter-inch minimum edge distance from the edge of the wide-flange beam below. Section E-E shows two rows of studs with a five-and-one-half-inch minimum width and three-inch minimum spacing centered on flutes. The composite slab maintains specific vertical clearances including one-and-one-half-inch minimum below the deck and one-inch minimum above the deck.
