An exterior concrete grade beam supports an adjacent concrete slab with continuous reinforcing dowels matched to the slab reinforcement size, grade, and spacing. A continuous keyway with a waterstop is cast into the cold joint between the grade beam and the slab. Rigid insulation is applied to the exterior face of the grade beam. Elevations for the top of the footing and top of the slab are verified per the structural plans.
