A sawn contraction joint is formed in a concrete slab with a maximum width of 0.1 inches and a depth of 1-1/2 inches plus or minus 1/4 inch. Reinforcement is placed per plan with a typical 2-1/2 inch clearance and a 3/4 inch cover over subgrade.
