Suspended cable and rod anchorage connections attach to the underside of structural steel wide flange beams using welded angles and stiffener plates. The cable configuration utilizes an L3x3x1/4 angle four inches long with a 3/8-inch diameter hole centered in the vertical leg, centered on the beam flange and welded with 1/4-inch fillet welds. A suspended cable connects using two Crosby G-450 red U-bolt clips complying with ASME B30.26 for a maximum tension of 250 pounds. The rod configuration uses a hanger rod with a double nut at the top and a 5/16-inch thick stiffener plate located three inches from the hanger centerline for a maximum tension of 500 pounds.
