The assembly incorporates a joist brace connected with four ten-penny nails and secured to the steel joist with a five-eighths-inch diameter machine bolt. Simpson strap marks 4A, 4B, and 4C are scheduled with corresponding quantities of sixteen-penny nails, utilizing half of the required nails in each member. An extra layer of ninety-pound felt covers any exposed steel strap per the roofer's recommendation.
