A heavy structural steel base plate connection secures the column and gusset plate assembly using twelve 1-3/4 inch diameter anchor rods. The two-and-one-quarter-inch thick base plate measures sixty-four by twenty-four inches and is detailed per sheet S-202. Anchor rods are distributed symmetrically around the perimeter of the L-shaped footprint with precise edge distances and spacing dimensions indicated.
