A wide-flange beam frames into a vertical hollow structural section post sized per plan. A one-quarter-inch thick cap plate caps the top of the hollow structural section post, aligning with the top of steel elevation. Shear tabs welded to the post connect to the web of each wide-flange beam using standard bolted connections sized per schedule.
