A double angle brace of size L2x2x1/4 at six feet on center ties back to a steel joist supporting a steel deck. A four-inch by four-inch by quarter-inch weld plate provides the connection point at the joist. The joist supplier must design the joists for three kips of uplift at the brace connection point.
