A structural steel beam frames into a column with a gusset plate connection. The beam web and flanges are welded using complete joint penetration welds, with additional plates sized a minimum of three-eighths of an inch thick. Erection bolts are provided as required for temporary alignment during installation. A minimum three-inch clearance is maintained at the gusset plate intersection per engineering notes.
