This assembly connects a steel beam to a column using a 1-inch by 10-inch by 1-foot-2-inch steel cap plate welded to the top of the column. The beam is secured to the cap plate with two 3/4-inch diameter bolts spaced at 6 inches on center on each side of the column centerline. A full-height connection plate is centered on the column axis to provide lateral support. The column-to-cap plate connection is reinforced with a 3/8-inch fillet weld. The assembly supports roof sheathing and blocking as specified per plan.
