Steel beams frame into structural steel column flanges and webs using continuous plates and bolted or welded connections. Complete joint penetration welds are specified at the column flanges and webs with five-sixteenths inch and one-quarter inch fillet welds. Three-quarter inch plates are incorporated at the web connection welded on three sides. Continuous plates are sized according to the backspan beam with welding per specific connection details. Incoming beams are omitted from the views for clarity.
