A structural steel outrigger framing detail featuring a channel member supported by a wide flange beam at the roof edge. The assembly uses a three-eighths-inch plate with two erection bolts connecting the channel to a welded clip angle on the support beam web. Welds include three-sixteenths-inch fillet welds on three sides of the channel connection and five-sixteenths-inch fillet welds on three sides of the beam connection. The channel member is specified as C5x6.7 spaced at four feet zero inches on center maximum. A roof deck bears on the top flange of the support beam near the grid line.
