A structural steel beam frames into a column web with type T1 stiffener plates welded horizontally above and below the beam flanges. Fillet welds designated as W1 are specified typically at the beam flanges, while W2 welds connect the web and flanges. Additional W3 fillet welds are applied typically to the stiffener plate connections against the column. All welds are specified per the structural drawing schedule.
