An HSS post connects to a wide-flange beam using an LX4x3/8 angle on each side with a fifteen-sixteenths-inch diameter by three-inch vertical slot and a seven-eighths-inch diameter through bolt. The beam is welded with five-sixteenths-inch welds as sized per plan. At the base, the HSS post rests on a three-quarter-inch base plate anchored into concrete with two three-quarter-inch diameter expansion anchors over one inch of grout. An HSS continues where specified, coordinated with the elevator manufacturer.
